Global Fashion Directory FAQ
for Fashion Brands, Manufacturers, Suppliers & Service Providers

Looking for trusted fashion partners? Learn how the Global Fashion Directory will work, what makes it different, how to get listed, and more — for brands, factories, suppliers, and service providers. Powered by the Match Engine™ — smarter search, faster connections, real results.

What is the Global Fashion Directory (GFD)?

GFD is a curated B2B sourcing platform designed to connect fashion brands, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers across the global fashion supply chain. Whether you work in design, sourcing, or production, GFD helps you find high-quality partners through smart filters, editorially verified profiles, and meaningful matchmaking tools.

What makes GFD more effective than other platforms?

Unlike generic directories that offer basic contact lists, GFD is purpose-built for fashion sourcing. Our profiles are curated by fashion professionals, filters are designed specifically for industry-relevant criteria, and our verification process is conducted through internal editorial review — not automated scraping or third-party certification.
As GFD is currently in the R&D phase, some features (such as lead matching and tiered plans) are still in development. However, our goal is to reduce outreach friction, increase sourcing precision, and support verified discovery for fashion brands and suppliers.

What types of businesses are featured on GFD?

GFD includes verified profiles across all stages of the fashion value chain: apparel manufacturers, fabric and trim suppliers, fashion brands, sourcing agents, sustainability consultants, logistics providers, and creative service firms. We support categories across womenswear, menswear, kidswear, accessories, and more.

Who is GFD built for?

GFD is designed for fashion professionals seeking real, reliable sourcing connections. Whether you’re a brand founder, sourcing manager, consultant, or sustainability lead, GFD helps you skip the noise and connect directly with verified partners. From startups to scaling companies, if you’re serious about supply chain growth, verified leads, and strategic collaboration, GFD is built for you.

How does GFD support sustainable fashion sourcing?

You can filter by sustainability indicators like certifications, deadstock use, next-gen materials, or local production. Many businesses submit third-party certificates or sustainability claims. These claims are self-submitted unless explicitly marked as verified. We recommend validating this information directly with the business. Our sustainability filters are still being evaluated as part of our R&D and onboarding process.

How do I get listed on GFD?

We’re currently onboarding fashion businesses as part of our testing phase. If you’re a manufacturer, supplier, service provider, or fashion brand and want to be included, visit our Onboarding page. Participation during this beta stage is free.

Why is my company listed even if I didn’t sign up?

Global Fashion Directory (GFD) is currently in its beta and R&D phase. As part of building a transparent, searchable knowledge base of fashion suppliers, we feature two types of profile listings:
Verified Profile – Submitted directly by the business and verified through GFD’s onboarding process. These listings are managed by the business and include customized, approved details. They are clearly labeled as “Profile submitted by the business and verified through GFD’s onboarding process. Contact us to update or report any issues.”
Curated Profile – Created by GFD Editors using publicly available business data (e.g., company websites, trade shows directories). These listings help improve discoverability of qualified suppliers and are clearly labeled “Profile created by GFD Editors using public business data. Contact us to edit or remove.”
Inclusion in the directory does not imply endorsement or a commercial relationship. If your business is listed and you’d like to edit, verify, or remove your profile, contact us anytime at support@globalfashiondirectory.com. We respond to all requests in accordance with GDPR Article 6(1)(f), CCPA, and applicable regulations.

How can I remove my business from GFD?

You can request removal or changes to your listing by emailing us at support@globalfashiondirectory.com . We’re committed to maintaining accurate information and will respond promptly in line with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

How does GFD verify businesses and ensure data accuracy?

GFD is currently in its R&D phase. As part of this development, we maintain two types of profile listings: verified and curated. All profiles undergo internal review to ensure clarity, relevance, and consistency. While GFD verifies business information for editorial consistency and category fit, this does not constitute legal validation, certification, or endorsement. All data is subject to periodic review, and businesses can request updates or corrections at any time.

What is the GFD Match Engine™ and how does it work?

The GFD Match Engine™ is our in-development AI-assisted matchmaking system designed to help fashion businesses discover high-fit sourcing partners. It will use structured profile data and smart filters — including category, region, MOQ, certifications, and sustainability focus — to surface relevant matches. While not yet fully deployed, this system is being tested as part of GFD’s current R&D phase.

Does the Match Engine™ endorse the partners it recommends?

No. The GFD Match Engine™ applies algorithmic logic based on your preferences and our data fields to suggest potential partners. These are suggestions — not endorsements, certifications, or quality guarantees. We encourage all users to conduct their own due diligence before entering any business relationship.

How do I use GFD to find the right partners or expand into new markets?

Our AI-assisted Match Engine™ and advanced search filters are currently in development. While basic discovery is possible now, personalized recommendations and global matchmaking will be launched after R&D validation.

How do I improve my visibility in GFD search results?

Future versions of GFD will include premium placement, profile completeness scores, and verified badges. These features are currently being designed and tested as part of our roadmap.

What are GFD credits and how do they work?

GFD credits are a planned feature that will allow users to unlock verified supplier leads and insights. This system is under development as part of our R&D stage.

Which GFD plan is right for me?

We offer planned pricing tiers (Essential, Pro, Premium, Elite), but none are active yet. During the R&D stage, all users are enrolled in our free Essential Tier with access to core onboarding features.

How much does it cost to use GFD?

GFD is currently free for early users. Our pricing model is under development and will only apply after successful validation of our AI systems and onboarding infrastructure.

Is GFD live and commercially available now?

Not yet. GFD is currently in R&D, building and testing the platform’s core onboarding and matchmaking systems. The business model and pricing structure are being developed for planning strategy only and are subject to change.

Is GFD right for small businesses or startups?

Yes — GFD is built to serve small-to-midsize brands, manufacturers, and service providers. We’re currently testing our platform with early-stage and underrepresented businesses to ensure accessibility, relevance, and value for everyone in the sourcing ecosystem.

How do I reach GFD support if I need help?
